A common stereotype in math is that “a child that solves a math problem faster is smarter than a child takes longer to solve the same problem”. This is not necessarily true. Some people may take longer to process and think through a problem to get the right answer. If intelligence were to be measured by mathematical understanding, then speed would not be a consideration.
