ADD and ADHD students should learn to advocate for themselves by asking for directions to be repeated. Sometimes they lose focus, feel embarrassed and guess. Then they end up either not completing an assignment or putting a lot of work into an assignment that was done incorrectly. Have your student ask for directions to be repeated as many times as it takes for them to clearly understand and complete the task.
