Divorce can devastate children and sometimes may be avoided. Scientists asked both men and women why they argue with their spouses. Of the list of reasons each group gave, both sides cited “money” the most. Parents can cut down on financial conflicts by dividing money into three accounts: “yours”, “mine”, and “ours”. Another way parents can avoid fights and possibly prevent divorce is to hold quarterly meetings to discuss finances. Additionally, some parents also find that signing a prenuptial agreement prior to getting married can make the financial side of things a little bit easier. Although prenups might not sound particularly glamorous or romantic, they can make it much easier to divide assets fairly during a divorce.

With bike theft on the rise, children need to protect their prized possession. Police suggest using a combination of U-locks and cable locks to maximize bicycle protection.

If your child rides a bike to school (or rides a bike at all for that matter), have them use a U-lock. Police claim that U-locks are the most effective locks for preventing theft.

Unfortunately some students that ride their bikes to school have had them stolen. Many towns have found the statistics to this growing problem staggering. In fact in the town of Brookline MA, police have reported that between 60 and 80 bicycles are stolen there each year!

Our auction donation and your generosity will help raise a tremendous amount of revenue for the school’s needs. The money raised will directly benefit all the students through funding major projects. As the largest public K-8 school in Brookline with approximately 850 students of varied economic backgrounds, their needs are great. Thanks to donors like us and bidders like you, the proceeds will go directly toward the continued roll out of SMART Board and iPad Technology for the classrooms and continued enrichment support for music, academic and sports programs.
