Newton, MA November 2011 MCAS Retest Schedule

The MCAS English Language Arts (ELA) and Math retests are scheduled for mid November in Newton, MA. These tests will only be issued to 11th or 12th grade students that have received a failing or needs improvement score on their previous MCAS tests starting in 10th grade. If a student has previously passed one of the two subjects, they will only have to take one retest in the failing subject.

The math and science portions of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System better known as the MCAS test, will be given throughout Newton, MA during the month of May. The elementary and middle school math MCAS test will be 2 sessions and each session will last approximately 50 minutes. The high school math MCAS test will also be 2 sessions and each session will last approximately 60+ minutes. For grades 5 and 8 the science MCAS test will be 2 sessions and each session will last approximately 45 minutes. The schedule is as follows:
