About 2 weeks ago, I tried out the Y3K Tutor In Your Home tutoring service not knowing anything about the service or its tutors.  I needed a tutor to help me with the math portion of the TEAS nursing exam.  I met with the owner and was absolutely impressed and happy with the service that I received.  He went out of his way to work around my schedule.  He accurately observed my strengths and weaknesses and developed a plan of attack that best suited me and my study habits.  He also was able to breakdown each formula and put it into very simple terms/steps that were easy for me to execute.  After the test, I relayed the good news of my 10 point jump from the previous test result to him and he was really pleased to hear about my success.  I am very content with my experience with my tutor.  I highly recommend and I will be going back any chance I get.

14th Annual Buddy Dog Collection Drive

Arnold Goldstein, Vice President of Y3K Tutor In Your Home donates toys, bedding, towels, blankets and much needed supplies to the Buddy Dog Humane Society shelter in Sudbury MA. In this picture Arnold Goldstein presents a dog bed and toys to Kimberly Ouellette, Kennel Assistant and Rousey, pitbull mix (one of the dogs and cats waiting for adoption). All items donated were from Y3K Tutor In Your Home’s successful 14th annual collection drive for the Buddy Dog Humane Society shelter. Besides collecting animal shelter items every year, Y3K Tutor In Your Home educates students in all major academic subjects along with ADHD, executive function, learning disabilities, organization, study skills and test preparation.

Y3K Tutor In Your Home 14th Annual Buddy Dog Humane Society Collection Drive Complete List

Here is the complete list of items collected for the Y3K Tutor In Your Home 14th Annual Buddy Dog Humane Society Collection Drive.  There are three convenient drop-off locations.  Pick-ups are the first Saturday of each month.  Our collection drive is from November 1st to January 10th.  Call now!

 

Most Needed Items:

• Limited-slip or Martingale collars of all sizes
• Non-clumping, clay cat litter
• Bleach, laundry detergent, liquid dish soap
• Canned dog food (any brand or variety)
• Canned cat food
• Soft, chewy treats (soft Milkbones, BilJacs, Buddy Biscuits, etc.)

 

For the Cats and Kittens:

• Blankets and soft cat beds
• Towels
• Toys (stuffed mice, fishing pole toys, catnip)
• New, standard-sized litter boxes (no hood)

 

For the Dogs and Puppies:

• Sturdy leashes, 8-foot
• Toys (squeaky and plush toys; NO tennis balls or rope toys)
• DentaStix, Greenies (no rawhides please)
• Blankets and soft dog beds
• Soft, chewy treats (soft Milkbones, BilJacs, Buddy Biscuits, etc.)
• Science Diet brand dry food
 

For the Staff:

• Office supplies: dry-erase markers, pens, staples, etc.
• Paper towels and tissues
• All-purpose cleaner and sponges

SAT Advantage

Although the SAT tests are optional to get in to many colleges, high test scores can be an advantage when applying. Many college admissions specialists recommend high school students take the exams only if they expect to score well. Strong scores on the SAT and ACT exams will help you, but these colleges won’t hold it against you for not taking them.

More and more colleges each year realize the SAT is not an effective measure of student intelligence. The list of schools no longer requiring the SAT grows by the year. Several colleges including UMass Lowell and Salem State University have made the main SAT and ACT tests optional.

How to Study #2

The best way to study is to maximize the amount of study days. For example if a student has a test in two weeks and they spread it out over that two week period, they are going to score a lot higher than if they tried to do it all the night before. Even if they try to study two or three days before, their scores will not be as high as if they used the entire two week period.
