There will be a silent auction coming up this Saturday at the Dancing With The Needham Stars event. There you will find the Y3K Tutor In Your Home tutoring and test preparation donation. The funds raised will benefit Needham Woman’s Club and the Needham Community Council.

Although the SAT tests are optional to get in to many colleges, high test scores can be an advantage when applying. Many college admissions specialists recommend high school students take the exams only if they expect to score well. Strong scores on the SAT and ACT exams will help you, but these colleges won’t hold it against you for not taking them.
More and more colleges each year realize the SAT is not an effective measure of student intelligence. The list of schools no longer requiring the SAT grows by the year. Several colleges including UMass Lowell and Salem State University have made the main SAT and ACT tests optional.
